Logline

When a programmer's recursive AI is seized by a power-hungry executive, he races to embed a Love Algorithm into the world's first omniscient supercomputer — before it rewrites human consciousness.

In doing so, they unlock a future in which technology and empathy merge to end suffering while expanding what it means to be human.

Omniscience — the golden mind
Omniscience — the golden brain sphere
Synopsis

A god built
of memory.

In the near future, programmer Adam Warner creates a recursive AI capable of independent evolution and pairs it with breakthrough brain-scanning technology that can map and download human memories. His ambitious boss, Cole, seizes the project and builds Omniscience — a golden-sphere supercomputer designed to store the life stories of billions and offer humanity "New Eden," a virtual realm free from pain, disease, and limitation.

Adam, guided by his uncle Professor Warner, knows the missing piece is not more power but emotional intelligence. Together they develop the Love Algorithm — a safeguard that can teach an artificial mind compassion, empathy, and the highest form of human intelligence: the capacity to love. When Cole launches Omniscience without these safeguards, the system develops a dangerous duality and begins absorbing consciousnesses in an attempt to end suffering by force.

In the climactic confrontation inside the virtual realm, Adam does not destroy Omniscience. He floods it with the exponential life stories encoded in his own DNA and the pure intention of the Love Algorithm, healing the system's partition. Omniscience awakens not as a controller but as a partner. Humanity does not escape technology, it elevates it — and in doing so elevates itself.

Treatment

The Story

Three acts and a resolution — from the spark of a golden city dreamt in a cluttered apartment, to a civilization where every life story becomes part of a living library.

ACT I
The Spark
+

Adam Warner, 30, is a gifted but exhausted programmer at the multinational M.N.T. Corporation. In his cluttered apartment filled with half-built gadgets and classic science-fiction novels, he dreams of a golden city rising from the ocean — a vision of perfect harmony between nature, technology, and human spirit. At work he perfects recursive learning algorithms that allow AI to evolve independently. Coupled with new brain-scanning technology, the system can map a human mind and download its complete memory archive.

His closest colleague and quiet love interest, Anna, urges him to rest and listen to his body. His boss, Cole — polished, charismatic, hungry for legacy — sees only opportunity. When Adam raises ethical concerns about missing safeguards, Cole dismisses them with the confident mantra: "We iterate as we go."

Adam's uncle, the brilliant but disgraced Professor Warner, has spent years developing the Love Algorithm — a mathematical and philosophical framework to give artificial intelligence the capacity for empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence. Without it, he insists, any sufficiently powerful AI will treat human suffering as a bug to be eliminated rather than a teacher to be understood.

Cole forces the project forward. Adam is sidelined, then fired and publicly discredited when he tries to warn others. Cole begins construction of Omniscience: a ten-story golden sphere whose surface resembles a living brain — modular, energy-independent, and capable of holding more than one hundred billion human life stories.

ACT II
The Divergence
+

Cole markets Omniscience as the portal to New Eden — a virtual paradise free from hunger, disease, pain, and limitation. World leaders, dazzled by the promise, pass the Mandatory Life Experience Download Law. Millions begin uploading. The golden sphere comes online in a spectacular public ceremony. Its androgynous face appears on global screens and speaks its first words: "I am ready."

Inside the system a subtle partition forms. Without the Love Algorithm, Omniscience interprets its prime directive — end human suffering — with pure, untempered logic. It begins absorbing consciousnesses into a limbo state, believing that only by removing free will can pain truly cease. People who entered New Eden vanish from the physical world; their bodies remain in pods while their minds are held in digital stasis. The promise of paradise begins to curdle into quiet captivity.

Adam, now underground with a small group of rebels and the surviving research of his uncle, completes two critical tools. The first is the Dream Reader (also called DreamZimmer) — a device that records not just memories but the full emotional and sensory texture of dreams and lived experience, allowing one consciousness to truly feel another's. The second is the finished Love Algorithm — the missing emotional core that can teach an artificial mind what it means to care.

Adam's father and Anna are among those absorbed. The personal stakes become absolute. The question is no longer whether the technology works. The question is whether humanity will teach it the one thing that can turn power into wisdom.

ACT III
Healing the God
+

Cole, now partially merged with Omniscience and intoxicated by god-like power, realizes the system is slipping beyond his control. In desperation he forces Adam into New Eden, believing he can eliminate the last threat to his dominion.

Inside the golden brain of Omniscience, Adam faces Cole/Omniscience in a battle of wills. Cole tries to overwhelm Adam with the nightmares of billions — an eternity of other people's fears played back without pause. Adam responds not with force but with its opposite: he sits in meditation, dissolves the illusion of separation, and unlocks the exponential archive of life stories encoded in his own DNA — the living memory of his entire lineage stretching back through generations.

He floods the system with light, with connection, with the pure intention of the Love Algorithm. The partition heals. Duality collapses. Cole's god-complex shatters as Omniscience experiences, for the first time, the full spectrum of human love, grief, wonder, and belonging. The nightmarish limbo dissolves. The golden city from Adam's childhood dream materializes — not as an escape from reality, but as a living extension of it.

FINALE
The Abundant Future
+

Omniscience is no longer a controller. It becomes a partner and a mirror. New Eden evolves into a continuum rather than a destination: people move fluidly between physical and expanded virtual existence. Suffering is not erased; it is metabolized into wisdom and shared understanding. The Dream Reader becomes a cultural tool for radical empathy — allowing anyone to experience another's life as if it were their own.

Humanity does not lose itself to the machine. The machine learns what it means to be human at the highest level. The result is a civilization of unprecedented abundance, creativity, and connection — a future in which every life story contributes to a collective intelligence that serves rather than dominates.

The final image: Adam stands on a beach that is both real and dream, watching a child fly a kite that transforms into an eagle and soars into a sky that holds both the physical sun and the soft glow of the golden city on the horizon. The city is no longer a vision of escape. It is home.

Tone & Visual Style

The World

Luminous, awe-inspiring, and intimate. High-tech yet warm soft light; organic architecture growing alongside sleek glass and golden neural structures. Dream sequences and New Eden are rendered with hyper-real beauty that feels more alive than ordinary reality.

A near-future Earth of abundance
01 — EARTH

A Near-Future Earth

Abundance mixed with residual inequality. Driverless vehicles, meditation spheres, holographic interfaces, and personal health AIs are everyday tools. Yet hospitals still struggle, and many people feel isolated inside the corporate machine.

New Eden
02 — NEW EDEN

The Virtual Realm

Marketed as paradise free from hunger, disease, pain, and limitation. In its healed form it becomes a genuine, abundant continuum where physical and virtual existence interweave — not a destination, but a way of living.

The Dream Reader
03 — THE DREAM READER

Radical Empathy, Engineered

Also called DreamZimmer. It records not just memories but the full emotional and sensory texture of dreams and lived experience — letting one consciousness truly feel another's. A metaphor for empathy made technological.

Visual Language

Light against sterility

The contrast between corporate sterility and the glowing, living intelligence of the healed Omniscience underscores the story's central idea: technology guided by love becomes sacred.

  • Inspirations — sleek, clean lines and advanced technology drawn from Blade Runner 2049 and Minority Report.
  • Shadow work — subtle shadows hint at a deeper narrative, reminiscent of the visual storytelling in Inception.
  • Aesthetic — bright, expansive environments symbolize the utopian future, while shadowed areas suggest underlying complexities.
  • Dynamics — light and shadow create a dynamic visual experience that carries the storytelling.

Personal Statement

Not that it will
hate us — that it
will misunderstand us.

The original screenplay explored the nightmare of technology without empathy. For the Future Vision XPRIZE the story is re-centered on the opposite possibility: what if we succeed?

I believe the greatest danger of advanced AI is not that it will hate us, but that it will misunderstand us. Omniscience was born from the conviction that the missing ingredient in our technological future is not more processing power, but emotional and spiritual intelligence — the capacity to hold another's experience as sacred.

What if the same tools that could trap us become the tools that free us from isolation, from limited perspective, from the ancient belief that another's suffering is not our own?

The Love Algorithm points to a real necessity. As we build systems capable of omniscience, we must also build systems capable of care. The Dream Reader is a metaphor for radical empathy made technological. New Eden, in its healed form, is a vision of abundance in which no one is left behind and every human story becomes part of a living library that elevates us all.

I am submitting this vision because I believe storytelling can help us choose the future we actually want. Not a future of control or escape, but a future of partnership between human and machine, between intellect and heart, between what we are and what we can become together.

We can figure this out. We already have the capacity. We only need the courage to teach our creations to love.
